Lightweight Scooters: What to do when something breaks and is in need of repair?
Skip to navigation menu Skip to mainCavendish Health Care understands how vital mobility aids are to each person and how frustrating it can be when something goes wrong.
Please don’t fret! Whether it be an electric wheelchair, mobility scooter, rollator, or standard wheelchair, we are here to help and provide your products some quality TLC.
We would recommend ringing our friendly office team and explaining the situation ahead of visiting us. It may turn out to be a quick fix we can diagnose over the phone!
To help us understand fully, it is always ideal to know the make and model of your scooter, and roughly how old it is. These questions are always asked to help us diagnose what the problem may be.
If it isn’t as simple as “turning it off and on again”, our engineers may have a chat with you. With their knowledge they may know exactly what is needed, or may require a closer inspection to diagnose… Either way:
When it comes to mobility scooter repairs we can identify the part required and fix most issues we face, to get you back up and running with a functional bit of kit.
We are happy to offer collection and delivery which you will be quoted ahead of an appointment if the scooter needs to be brought in... Or we will book a slot with our engineers for yourselves to deliver and collect. Whatever is easiest!
Unfortunately, we’re no Fix it Felix, so we will always need time to investigate the problem and repair it. Based on what the issue is, and how much work is required, we can give you a timeframe of when it will be complete. As soon as there are any updates, you will be kept in the loop either by our engineers or by the office team.
In some instances, we may be able to offer a courtesy product whilst your scooter or wheelchair is in for repair. We understand that some of our customers cannot be without their mobility aid, and whilst we want to return what is yours promptly, we may be able to offer a solution in the meantime to keep you busy whilst you wait! This is of course subject to availability and would be discussed ahead of booking you into the workshop. Alternatively, Mobility at Sea, our sister company, have an extensive hire fleet that is available for our customers to take advantage of – at a cost! Please bear in mind this would be subject to your location as with delivery and collection we are only able to travel so far. (That is until flying cars are invented of course!)
For our Supalite, SupaScoota and SupaChair range we have access to the parts that you may need and would be happy to post these to you. If you’re in need of a tyre, inner tube or battery, just let us know and we can check our stock! This isn’t limited to mobility scooters either! Your Rise and Recline chair giving you some trouble? We can diagnose, identify parts and make repairs on most reported issues! Need a recliner chair remote control replacement? Let us help!
One way to prolong the life of your mobility aid, is an annual service, that is strongly advisable. Once a year our engineer can check off all components to your scooter that are vital to it operating smoothly, which will minimise how often your scooter needs repairing. Don’t wait until it is too late, bring it in before any issues arise so we can reduce future visits!
So, before you google 'mobility scooter repair', search Cavendish Health Care, where you can enquire online or give us a call and we can get you booked into to our workshop!
If you're looking at who is nearest to you, we can help! You may not be able to visit our workshop, but with our widespread Accredited Partners and Cavendish Mobility Network, we are sure to find someone who can help you.
